My Background

James M. Smith, LUTCF®, CLTC®

I joined New York Life as an Agent in 1999 after a 20 year career of working in education as a high school Coach and Teacher.

I have been a resident of the Spring area for 21 years, and therefore have a vested interest in seeing my friends and neighbors succeed. As a loving husband, father of two, and now a grandfather I have many of the same hopes and aspirations as my clients and am happy to share with you all the resources and information New York Life has to offer.

Depending on your needs, I can introduce you to some proven, dependable ways to help protect your family's lifestyle and future; or prepare for major financial events such as paying for college, saving for retirement, or caring for an aging relative.

If you're wondering about my qualifications, you might find it reassuring to know that I am a licensed agent to sell insurance through the New York Life Insurance Company. In addition to my years of experience, I hold a Bachelor's degree from Mississippi State University and  am a graduate of New York Life's award-winning training program, NYLIC University.  I am a lifetime MDRT member and have been a top producer since joining New York Life in 1999.

To be the best possible agent, I've found that getting to know my clients – their hopes, dreams and goals for the future – is the most important step. So if you're looking for someone that's ready to put their  experience to work for you, please let me know.

Neither New York life Insurance Company, not its agents, provides tax, legal or accounting advice. Please consult your own tax, legal, or accounting professionals before making any decisions.
